There's something very exciting in the water down Brighton way, something that's nurturing the growth of a new wave of thrilling, teenage production talents. First we encountered Mura Masa, the kid behind some of Nao and Billie Black's best tracks, now it's his classmate (seriously), the lower-case leaning salute's turn to take centre stage. He's just inked a deal with London boutique 37 Adventures this month, and the first track they've put out, 'Castle (Magic)' feels like a bold step forward from the 19 year-old. Drawing on the likes of Rustie for inspiration, salute introduces infatuating synth hooks, honeyed vocal samples and skewed strobing beats, while never taking an eye off the more melodic textures.
